The early years…..

Brothers Salvatore (my amazing father) and Vincenzo Rizzo arrived in England from Sicily in the late 1950’s with fresh and innovative ideas to bring a small taste of Italy, and in particular Sicily, to the UK.

Both brothers settled in Preston, Lancashire where the beginning of Rizzo’s was established.  With a flourishing Italian community in and around Lancashire, Salvatore and Vincenzo began their journey to service their customers with the most amazing ingredients and foods from Italy.

With their unmistakably vans they would known for their ability to acquire traditional foods from Italy and delivery them right to their door. A service that became a cornerstone of what made the Rizzo’s unique.

The wholesale delivery service successfully expanded into shops allowing for customers to visit and embrace the culinary products the Rizzo’s had to offer.

Salvatore decided to continue the business while is brother immigrated back to Italy in the early 1980s expanding the service to local restaurants and take-away.

This flourishing business has lasted for more than 50 years with the inclusion and assistance of the youngest son Calogero (Me 😊 ).

The Present….

My father who has sadly passed away taught us all that there nothing more satisfying in a job than to see people you work with smile.  He did this through his energetic desire to service his customers and provide for his family.  It’s rare to find a role that you truly love, and my father was lucky to have found it.

Through this cyclical turn of events we have again found the desire and demand for authentic Italian and Sicilian foods. Through this, we have decided to offer such services and products through this online medium.
